All about the poet
As a small child I hardly saw a book because I grew up in London during World War II. My love for poetry began post-war around the age of nine or ten when I read the poem, ‘Baby Seed’* and wept at the thought of the separation of two seeds, probably because my best friend had died during the war, a devastating separation for me.
On leaving school I did nursing for a while followed by six years of secretarial work until I found my true vocation, teaching. Once married, with four children to raise, I had very little time to write but on retirement to France I was able to indulge my love of poetry to the full. I have also included many poems written after the death of my husband.
My faith has played an important part in my life and this is reflected in the many words I have put to paper. I share them with you here. May these poems bring you as much joy and comfort in the reading of them as I have had in the writing of them.
