The path of blessing
Is to follow the example Jesus gave
Even on the night He was going to save
By being nailed to a cross of wood
He humbled himself to wash dirty feet
Then went on to say this is how we should treat
Each other; then we would know true happiness
Because through our actions He would bless
And we would belong to Him.
John 13:1-17
As dew refreshes grass
In the stillness of the night
So my soul is renewed
As I come to God in quiet.
Revitalising power
I receive as I rest
So that I can carry on
With a new-found zest.
As on God I focus my brain
My thoughts find traction
I move to important things
With God-inspired action.
God knew that humans could not comprehend
The eternity concept… no beginning or end
So He devised portions of time, day and night
Years, months, weeks; hours; darkness and light.
Now if we follow His plan of sleep, work and rest
Our rhythm of life He’ll abundantly bless.
If you understand God’s ways and wisdom
There’ll be humble good deeds in your life
For God blesses considerate unity
But never division, envy or strife
For the wisdom that comes from heaven is pure
It is gentle, impartial, sincere
So peacemakers who plant seeds of peace
Will reap a harvest of goodness each year.
James 3:13-18
In coming days, as in faith, you move out
Keep trusting the Lord, get rid of doubt
Keep looking to Him for He will guide
Will open for you a new door – wide.
You’ll be moving onto an untried way
So keep focused on Jesus, don’t let your thoughts stray.
If you follow His lead you will be quite sure
For His grace, in abundance, He has promised to pour.
When you’re right in the centre of God’s will
You’ll receive His blessing to overfill
And this will then many others bless
Bring to them and you divine happiness.
My failures can be a source of blessing
Humbling, giving me empathy
God says, “I can bring beauty from mistakes
Failure highlights your dependence on Me.
Dependence will bring you much closer
Where you’ll experience more fully my grace
So don’t be disheartened when you mess up
Continue to trust, look into my face.
I am able to weave both good and bad
Into a wonderful design
You can safely leave everything in my hands
I love you so much. You are mine.
I was so blessed by God’s promise
The promise of a son in old age
The joy and rejoicing of my heart.
I did nothing to deserve such a baby
Nor did anything wrong for him to be taken.
Taken away in the midst of life.
I will release him, return him once more
To where he came from, to the One who gave
Let God restore, breathe into him new life.

Lord my Master; my Refuge
My cup of blessing
All the good things I have
Come from you.
You guide me; instruct me
Are always with me
Right beside me
Keeping me safe
Guarding all that is mine.

The way of life
Granting me joy
The joy of your presence

Bless me lord so that I may bring
Blessing to others in everything.
Proverbs 10:22
I stand on the beach
Watching the sea
A wave comes in
I feel happy –fulfilled
The wave retreats
I’m sad – bereft
Yet the backwash for me
Is the swash for another
So I’ll no longer look
At each separate wave
But consider the tide
The ups and downs
The comings and goings
Of the tide of life
The vast ocean of God
So deep – unfathomable
That brings waves of blessing to all.
