Count The Stars

Here today I go again
Trying hard to find
Solutions to my problems
Leaving God behind
And once again I’m doubting
That His promise can come true
So I need to lend my God a hand
See what I can do.

Then I hear God gently calling
I’m all you need, trust me
I will be your great reward
Just let go and you’ll see

Oh forgive me Lord again I say
I always seem to forget
That you have all things in control
I’ve hardly seen anything yet
So tonight I will look at the heavens above
Try to count the stars in the sky
Remember that every vow you keep
Will stop asking how, when and why.

Beyond Faith

What is it ?
This thing they call faith
I’m told to step out
Move forward
Forget the past
Look to the future
Have faith
Trust God.
He knows the way forward
Has a plan for my life
If I will only commit
To Him.

Commit – that’s it !
That’s faith
Commitment.
“Lord into your hands
I commit my all
And beyond faith
I find your love.”

Confidence

What is important in life?
Not what I am doing
Not where I am going
But who I am going with.
With and for whom I am working.

My security is placed
In whom I am with
The confidence I have
The trusting faith.

God has promised
To direct my paths
Be with me always.

I will trust in Him
Follow His plan
He’s promised to hold me
With His powerful right hand.

Leap Of Faith

A barren heart
A hungry soul
Can only be filled
By a leap.
A leap of faith
Into the unknown
To a higher plane
Of confidence
Assurance and hope
In what is unseen.

Miracles

Doing things as I always have
Stifles God’s unpredictable ways
If I listen and serve in obedience
I’ll be surprised and often amazed.

For God’s ways are unexpected
And if I just follow His Word
Wonderful things will happen
Which to me seem quite absurd.

With God all things are possible
I must simply trust and obey
Then I will see God at work
And miracles every day.

Fishing

Are you in a place of worry; anxiety; fear?
Do not be afraid for Jesus is near
He asks you to take your boat further out
Cast your net on the right where fish are swimming about.

If you do, you’ll catch so many fish
That you’ll need others’ help to bring them ashore
Then as you continue to trust and obey
Your catch will multiply more and more.

Hope

We are only where we are Lord through Your grace
For by faith we TRUST You and see Your face
We have come to know the Holy One
Who in sacrificial love sent His Son
So that we from sin can have release
Have our sins forgiven and God’s perfect PEACE.
Please fill us with your love to OVERFLOW
Then everyone we meet will come to know
Not only Your love Father but your grace too
Be blessed, like us, in everything they do
Experience the JOY of their sins forgiven
Of expectant HOPE; of a place in heaven.
We pray your love and POWER may be felt today
In the way we act and in all we say.
May your perfect will through us be done
Bringing glory to you FATHER, HOLY SPIRIT, SON.
Amen

Digging Ditches

God says:

“Just look at this valley
At the moment it’s very dry
All you have to do is dig ditches
I’ll provide the water supply.
You won’t hear the sound of the wind
Nor see the rain when it comes
But every ditch you have dug will be filled
In an instant it will be done.
All you have to do is start digging
Responding in faith to my will
I will send the reviving water
Every ditch you have dug I will fill.”

My response:

Today I’ll start preparing the ground
So that when God’s water comes in
Every ditch I have prepared for Him
The Lord can fill to the brim.

Increasing Faith

Everything is going well
I’m in the boat but there is no swell
The sun is shining on the sea
I can see in front of me
I have no need of faith.

Now, in the boat, the waves toss high
All is dark, no stars in the sky
I’m scared of being overthrown
I am entirely on my own
Now, I have need of faith.

I manage to keep the boat on course
Although the wind is blowing gale-force
The rowing is hard; the night is long
I shout out loud – a desperate song
Please Lord, increase my faith.

My Lord has been carefully watching me
He has heard my cry and now appears
I see Him vaguely through my tears
And I hear him gently say
“My precious child I am close by
I saw and heard before the cry
Had even left your lips
In love I’ve allowed all this to be
So that you will be brought much nearer to me
And your faith will be increased

This new refining from the Lord
Has turned me again to His word
“Through bread of adversity
Waters of affliction”
I will be brought to the conviction
That everything that happens to me
However bad at the time it seems to be
Occurs, because to God I’m very dear
And He wants me to hear His voice quite clear
“This is the way walk here, walk here”

Now I understand through the problems I’ve had
Things to me at the time that really seemed bad
God’s allowed to increase my faith.
Helped me to endure the painful hours
For where faith is strong, a miracle flowers.

Presence

My Presence shall go with you
And I will give you rest
For you can fully trust me
I always know what’s best.

My Presence shall go with you
I will bring you peace
A peace the world cannot offer
A peace that will never cease.

My Presence shall go with you
You’ll share my Father’s love
A love that has no limits
That comes from heaven above.

My Presence shall go with you
And I will fill you with joy
A joy that even through times of distress
Nothing can destroy.

My Presence shall go with you
You will become more kind
A kindness that really is heartfelt
A gentleness of mind.

My Presence shall go with you
And you will know what’s good
So that even when evil surrounds you
You’ll distinguish the trees from the wood.

My Presence shall go with you
And I’ll increase your faith
By running along beside you
Until you’ve won the race.

My Presence shall go with you
Your knowledge of me will grow
And as you learn more about me
More to others you’ll be able to show.

My heart is at rest for God’s promise
Oh rich glorious mystery
Through His love & resurrection power
Hope of glory – Christ living in me.
