Paradigm
Do I need a paradigm
A theory to guide my way
A formal set of practices
Controlling what I do and say?
Or am I letting God show me
The path I need to follow
For He is Life, the Truth, the Way
He’s yesterday, today and tomorrow.
So I can surrender my all to Him
And when I do I shall find
He has a perfect, wonderful plan
Better than any paradigm.

One Size Fits All
For a T-shirt you wear
One size is OK
But where God is concerned
This is not His way
So beware of the label
‘One size fits all’
As God has a plan
For each woman and man
A personal one
Pre-planned
By Him
Each plan is quite different
But God’s grace is sufficient
And where God guides
He provides
All needs.
If I fail
He forgives
Doesn’t grumble
But reaches out and steadies.
When I’m broken
It’s He who mends
And when I’m troubled
Sends
His comforter
To me.
So
I’ll follow His plan
Specially drawn for me
And then one day
I’ll hear Him say
Well done, Well done
Faithful one.

Lost
When I am lost
I need someone to find me
To come and search for me
Where I am
Not wait for me to return.
I don’t know the way
I want a helping hand
Someone to pull me to my feet
Carry me, or at least, help me stand
Without help I won’t get back on track
Who will help me?

The Lord Goes Ahead
The Lord
Himself
Personally
Goes ahead of you
He will
Be with you
He will
Never leave you
Never forget you.
Do not be afraid
Do not worry
Do not be discouraged.
Be strong
Be determined
Be confident.

All Things
Why, God, do I ever doubt?
You always get things sorted out
And they are always for my good
Because I love you and you have called
So, please, help me always to see
That you have unique plans
A special purpose for me.

Wisdom
Knowledge is good
But wisdom is better.
With knowledge
I can pass tests
Accomplish tasks
But wisdom will guide me
Give me insight.
I’ll have discernment
Perceptiveness.
I will embrace wisdom
Hold her tight
For she is
The tree of life.

Footsteps
Walking in the Master’s footsteps
Whether they be short or long
Faithfully following where He leads me
I know I cannot go wrong.
Sometimes the walk seems rather slow
Other times at a very fast pace
But when I feel I cannot keep up
He will turn and I glimpse His face.
By this I am always encouraged
To continue, persevere to the end
For I want to please my Master
Because He loves me and calls me His friend.

Wisdom
Which way are you leaning?
If it’s on your own understanding
You will surely fall.
Which path are you on?
If it’s the one you have chosen
It will not bring blessing.
Which way are you following?
The broad way or the narrow?
The broad leads to death.
To understand what’s right
To know which path to take
Trust God with all your heart.
Tune your ears to hear wisdom
Treasure God’s instructions
Cry out for understanding.
Then Wisdom will enter your heart
Knowledge will fill you with joy
Understanding will keep you safe.
Jesus is Wisdom, the Way, the Truth
Following Him leads to Life
Why not get on His path today?

A Maybe Moment
I usually like to have a plan
A well-thought out strategy
A specific direction I’m going to follow
Detailing things for today and tomorrow
But sometimes God surprises me
And gives me an opportunity
That comes along unexpectedly
When I have to respond with a certainty
That this maybe-moment God will use
(Although it isn’t always what I would choose)
To reveal His love; display His power
Sanctifying the present hour.
By seizing these moments, subduing my fear
Fully trusting; knowing God is near
The risk becomes a bridge for me
And gets me to where He wants me to be.

Psalm 16
Lord my Master; my Refuge
My cup of blessing
All the good things I have
Come from you.
You guide me; instruct me
Are always with me
Right beside me
Keeping me safe
Guarding all that is mine.
I will not be shaken
You show me the way
The way of life
Granting me joy
The joy of your presence
The pleasure of being with you
Forever.
No wonder my heart is filled with joy
My mouth shouts your praise
My body rests in safety.
What a pleasant land you have given me
What a wonderful inheritance
I bless you Lord!
I bless you Lord!
