Early Morning Clouds
This morning I raised the blind
Heavy clouds hung in the sky
In the distance dark, leafless trees
As my looking passed through the trunks
A bright fire-like light was there
As I stood, wondering,it was gone
Then in blinding light the sun appeared
Rose from behind the black cloud
I had to lower my gaze
It was not a silver lining
But a dazzling golden glow
Was this a glimpse of heaven?

Heaven’s Door
Lying
Sighing
Crying
Dying
All these will be no more
Once through heaven’s door.
Only truth
Perfect peace
Abounding joy
Eternal love
All this is in store
Once through heaven’s door.
Heavenly light
Angels bright
No more night
Faith lost in sight
Life for evermore
Once through heaven’s door.

Treasure
Treasure on earth is temporary
Will rust and perish
Disappear.
Treasure in heaven is permanent
Imperishable and lasting
Eternally.
So I’ll live on earth
With heaven in mind
Anticipating.

Tears
Tears! Often tears
Here below on earth
All through life
At death; from birth.
No heavenly tears
In the home above
They’re all wiped away
By the God of love.

Worship In Heaven
“Come up here,” invites God
“From earthly shackles free
Then you’ll be able to understand
And see what I can see.”
I accepted His invitation
Immediately could see
Someone sitting on a throne
In glorious majesty.
Around the throne a rainbow
Elders all clothed in white
Gentle rumbles of thunder
Brilliant flashes of light.
In front of the throne were lampstands
With flames burning bright
And a sparkling crystal sea
An amazing, awesome sight!
In the centre and around the throne
I saw with great surprise
Four wonderful living beings
Covered front and back with eyes.
Each of the creatures had six wings,
All gleaming in the light
A lion, an ox, a human
And an eagle in full flight.
The elders all fell down in worship
For all the Almighty had done
Praising the One who always was
Who is and still is to come.
To the One who lives for ever
The beings gave honour and glory
Saying, “Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty.”
Since accepting God’s invitation
To come up and see
I’ll join to give God the glory
Around the throne for eternity.

Thoughts On Eternity
I’m living in a space time world
Yet beyond space time there’s eternity
But my limited thoughts cannot comprehend
How space and time have no beginning or end
So my soul reaches out beyond my mind
And in my spirit I hear, “Seek and you’ll find.”
I’m starting my search for I want to know why
I’m on earth and what there is after I die.
I read in the manual that God has given
There’s a place outside space that he has named heaven
It’s a perfect place filled with glorious light
That can only be seen by faith, not by sight.
The Bible also says that if I believe
I can eternal life receive.
I continue to read and find that by faith
I can come to God, to His holy place.
Even speak to Him, wow! Face to face!
Not by anything good I have done
But by Jesus Christ, His beloved Son.
Who made me righteous when He died for me
Crucified on a cross at Calvary.
So now God I ask, please increase my faith
In Jesus who said, “I’m the life, truth and way.”
Open my eyes Father God, help me see
The unconditional love You have for me
Show me I can have a never-ending story
Share forever in all your heavenly glory.

Scars
God is thrice holy and will not allow in
Anything blemished, marred or unclean
Yet now by His wonderful mercy and grace
There is in that pure and holy place
Tokens of his great love for me
That will be there for all eternity
In Christ’s hands and feet, by man-made unclean
There are scars, where the nails of the cross had been.

Hidden Treasure
Where is your treasure?
Mine is hidden.
I knew I must hide it
Totally unbidden
So all I had to do
Was to follow my heart
And find a special place
That was set apart.
I found such a place
It brought me great joy
For its not damp or cold
So rust cannot destroy
Moths cannot eat it
Vermin not spoil
Nor thieves break in and steal
Yet this place is very real
It’s where my treasure is stored up
Where one day I shall be
In my Father’s heavenly home
For eternity.
