Divine Garements

Dressed in swaddling clothes at His birth
When He came from heaven down to earth.

A seamless robe that He wore every day
That, at His death, became soldiers’ play.

A spiritual garment of dazzling white
On the mount transfigured, inspiring sight!

A linen towel girded around
When He washed dirty feet without a sound.

A purple robe they put on Him
Mocking Him as thorn-crowned king.

Grave clothes that covered Him in the tomb
Left behind at the resurrection dawn.

Now, alive in heaven, dressed in gold and white
He stands, Great High Priest, in eternal light.

The Open Heaven

Father God you sent your Son
Down to this earth.
At the virgin birth
Shepherds came , and kings from afar
We’re led to worship by a star
And so that angels could praise
You opened heaven.

On the Jordan’s bank
When Jesus sank
In baptismal water
God spoke from above
Declared His love
By sending the dove
From the opened heaven.

When there were only three to see
You gave a glimpse of eternity
When you metamorphosed yourself
Becoming whiter than snow
To show to those on earth below
The true person of Jesus
God’s voice rang out
“This is my Son”
From the opened heaven.

On Good Friday
When darkness fell
God’s beloved Son
Tasted hell
But on Easter morn
Well before dawn
To receive the Redeemer
Heaven opened.
Then on ascension day
To receive Christ Jesus
As King to reign
Heaven opened again.

Just Where You Are

At your point of need
You’ll find Jesus, the Lord
He has promised in His Word
To walk with you
Talk with you
Just where you are.

When you’re anxious; confused
Stop and pray; say “Lord speak to me
Open my eyes so that I can see
That you are actually walking
Along with me”
Just where I am.

Are you battling fears and doubts?
Take a moment to listen
You will hear, “I’m here, don’t fear
I want to walk and talk with you
Along the path you’re on
Have faith. Trust Me. I love you
Just where you are.

My Shepherd

Jesus, my Shepherd
Chooses my path
Prepares my pasture
Every day
Protects me
All along the way.

Even walking
Through Shadow Valley
I know
You are always with me
You keep
My enemies far away
Refresh and restore me
Every day.

“So, Jesus, I’ll follow
Wherever you lead
Through green pastures
Where you let me feed
Spend time with you
By fresh waters sweet
Until in your house
Our Father I meet.”

Dying & Living Love

I close my eyes
See the cruel nails
The crown of thorns
The Son of Man
On a cross,
Made a curse
Dying for me
Paying my debt
Jesus my Saviour.
Such dying love
Such love!

I open my eyes
See an empty cross
Hear, “Peace, Peace”
He’s alive! Alive!
Son of God
In heaven
Living for me
Interceding
Jesus my Saviour.
Such living love
Such love!

Jesus Shepherd

Jesus
Creator of all things
Author of time
King of Kings
Soothes my head
With oil and tears
He fills my life
His blessings overflow
My mind, my heart, my soul.

I look back
I see goodness following
Mercy in step with me
I rest safe from harm
Am comforted.
I drink the cool water
I’m refreshed
My soul restored
I’m content
I’m with my Lord
My Shepherd.

God’s Face

Jesus originally had the face of his Father
Holy, perfect and full of love
But when he left and came down to earth
He left that face in Heaven above.

He started life on earth in a stable
Was born with a baby face
His Father had very special plans for Him
To demonstrate His amazing grace.

As He grew from childhood to manhood
He looked out from His face with concern
Touched and healed many; taught God’s ways
All those who heard were able to learn.

After three years of living a serving life
The religious had Him crucified
And the loving face of God that day
Was disfigured and dehumanised.

God did not leave His Son dead in the grave
But raised Him up, and now by God’s grace
Because Jesus paid for my sin on the cross
I can speak to God face to face.

Wholehearted Commitment

When I make Jesus Christ
Lord of my life
I surrender to Him
Three basic rights.
Where I live
How much I give
And how much I might be changed.

I need to carefully listen to all God has to say
Obeying His commandments, walking in His way.

If in obedience I do the will of the Lord
Follow His instructions to the word
Stay on the path He has asked me to take
He will bless and prosper me for His sake
And all will go well with my children too
Because I’m pleasing God in all that I do.
