Thanksgiving

I need to start giving thanks to God
For all the beauty and brightness around
Instead of looking inward, where
Grey thoughts have darkened my mind.

I’ll be able to walk through the darkest day
With the light of God’s Presence with me
Along the road of thanksgiving
Knowing I’m where God wants me to be.

Psalm 118:24

Windows In Heaven

Breaks in the clouds
Pierced by sunlight
Windows in heaven
Openings into eternity
Through which I glimpse
God’s glory.

I shield my eyes
The light is so bright
I’m overwhelmed
I want to turn away
From such wondrous beauty
The heavens declaring
God’s glory.

Thank you God
For giving me eyes
To see such splendour.
May the eyes of my heart
Be opened wide
To see more and more
Of your magnificence
Glimpses beyond the skies
Of your resplendence
Your grandeur
Glorious God.

Heart Words

Words on the tongue
Spring from the heart
So fill your heart
With what God has to say
Till the first gleam of dawn
Becomes the full light of day
For God’s words bring life
And radiant health
Encouragement, hope
Ineffable wealth.

Shadows

Shadows shift
Change, distort
Cannot be held
Embraced or caught.

Father God
Of heavenly light
Never changes
Day or night.

He is ALL light
No darkness and so
There can never be
Shadows that show.

James 1:17

Face The Light

Sitting alone head in hand
Is he depressed?
Thinking, meditating?
It matters not
For his back is turned
Away from the light
Heedless.

Three candles beside him
Yet he seems unaware
Of their proximity
So he sits in darkness
Alone.

Symbolical candles
Of God the Father
God the Son
God the Holy Spirit
So near.

God is light
In Him is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:5
Jesus, the light of the world.
John 8:12
The Holy Spirit who enlightens all.
1 Corinthians 2:10

The thinker should turn
Open his eyes
His heart will be flooded with light.
Ephesians 1:18

Pressure

Where there is pressure
Diamonds are formed.

Many things are tested
By being put under pressure.

Physical muscles grow
Under pressure.

Under spiritual pressure
My heart and mind grow.

Tried and tested
I mature, am transformed.

A diamond appears
Reflects rainbow light.
