Seeds of Peace

A seed
Unplanted
Remains a seed
Will only feed
One.

A seed
Planted
Unseen
Will die
But multiply.

Seeds of peace
Sown
Lie hidden
But bring forth
A harvest of goodness.

Those who plant
Will reap
Righteousness
Be blessed
Be called
Children of God.

Lord
Make me
A peace planter.

Thought Seeds

Thoughts are seeds
That start in my mind
Then grow in my heart.
I need to tell all negative ones
I don’t want you. Depart!

I must aim to think
On the honest and true
Pure and just, lovely too
Then all these good thoughts
Will grow into good deeds
As they’re watered by love
These little thought seeds.

Philippians 4:8

A Seed

I planted a seed in the dark
Hidden in a secret place
There was nothing to be seen on the surface
Not even a single trace.

But given time and patience
As the sunlight warmed it each day
It grew Into a beautiful plant
Became part of a wondrous bouquet.

Just so as I hide God’s Word in my heart
And it gets warmed by spiritual light
It will bring health and joy to my soul
To others blessing and great delight.

Butterflies

Plant a seed of love everyday
To grow into a flower that may
Attract a butterfly and so
Bring joy to someone who is feeling low
You may never know just who they are
But the seed you planted will travel far
And one day that flower that grew
Will surely bring butterflies back to you.

Flower Thoughts

So my mind won’t become a garden neglected
Over-run with grass and weeds
I need to regularly work on it
Constantly sowing healthy, good seeds.

The seeds in my mind are my thoughts
That I’m planting day after day
And I need to be very diligent
To keep unwanted weeds away.

Weeds are bad thoughts that will choke
So I need to keep them all clear
Then from the good seed-thoughts I plant
Beautiful flower-thoughts soon will appear.

Seeds of Kindness

I should receive joyfully and gratefully from others
For when they sow seeds of kindness into my life
They receive  abundant blessings from God.
If I deny them from giving I circumvent the harvest.

When I open my hands and give generously to others
God opens His hands, much bigger hands than mine
Pours His blessings into my lap; my life
A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.

I must keep on receiving but also sowing, giving to those in need
God gives bountiful harvests when I don’t hoard seed.
