Count The Stars
Here today I go again
Trying hard to find
Solutions to my problems
Leaving God behind
And once again I’m doubting
That His promise can come true
So I need to lend my God a hand
See what I can do.
Then I hear God gently calling
I’m all you need, trust me
I will be your great reward
Just let go and you’ll see
Oh forgive me Lord again I say
I always seem to forget
That you have all things in control
I’ve hardly seen anything yet
So tonight I will look at the heavens above
Try to count the stars in the sky
Remember that every vow you keep
Will stop asking how, when and why.

Epiphany
Was there?
Is there?
Only one star
That leads to the place
Where God incarnate
May be found?
Is there
Only one place?
One time?
Where I can find
Jesus
Emmanuel
God with me ?
NO!
For the guiding star
That gave light
Understanding
Insight
To wise men
Still shines
For me
Today.
God’s Word
Holy Spirit
Both give light
To lead me
Through the long, dark night
To where I may offer
My gifts.
In love
My self
Complete
To worship at His feet.

Night Stars
Where are the stars?
Those I saw last night
Are no longer there
Now it is light.
But where have they gone?
Are they hiding away
Because they like night
And not the day.
I hope they’ll come back very soon
To shine in the sky with their friend the moon
Because when it is dark during the night
I love to see their twinkling light.

Starlight
When the night is the darkest
Look up to the sky
See all the stars there
And understand why.
When all so black
You can’t see any more
You must, in faith
Fling open the door.
Step into the starlight
Where the stars will show
Indicate quite clearly
The way you should go.
But you have to look up
Not down or around
For up is where truth
And hope will be found.

Shining
Stars shine out
Every night
Speak
To the world
Without words
Praising God
Bringing glory to Him.
Help me Lord
Every day
To shine for you
Speaking out
To the world
Without words
Praising God
Bringing glory to Him.

Precious Jewels
Diamonds are not found on the surface
But deep down where the pressure is great
And the most wondrous pearl in an oyster
Where sharp grit for years did irritate.
When in my life I have troubles and trials
When my suffering is hard to bear
Through every circumstance and situation
God is forming me, a jewel costly and rare.
For all God’s children will one day be part
Of the beautiful crown of the King
And like the stars of the morning shining
As bright gems will being glory to Him.

Glory Declaration
Night after night
Day after day
Constantly
In their quiet way
Stars speak in silence
Without a sound
Declaring God’s glory
To all around
But only to those
Who lift their eyes
Through the darkness
To the vast night skies
Will be revealed
What’s never seen in light
A glimpse of God’s glory
Vibrant, bright.
Once glimpsed, they too
Without a sound
Will bow their heads
Fall to the ground
In awe of the Creator
Of the human race
Who flung stars
Through time and space
To declare His glory.
Psalms 19:1-3

Stars
Last evening
I star-gazed.
Shining lights
From far away
In time and space
Beyond comprehension
Of limited minds
Transform
My cramped thinking
Defying expression
Lift my spirit
Expand my mind
To transcend
The observable
Allow me to glimpse
Something beyond
To embrace
The unseen
Through the darkness.
This morning
Same window
Same sky
No longer dark
Yet no stars
Did I dream
Yesterday?

Rock Redeemer
Sunrises, sunsets, gloriously bright
Stars in the black sky, silver moonlight
God’s wondrous creations, all telling the story
Proclaiming to all His shimmering glory.
Yes, the heavens are there for all to see
If I listen they will wordlessly speak to me
Yet better by far if I take time to look
At God’s words for me in the Bible, His book.
The Almighty God, the magnificent Creator
Who sustains all, is my Rock my Redeemer
His Words refresh me; make me wise
Bring joy to my heart which endures forever.
So I see the glory of God in all creation
His love and power in written revelation
In His sacrifice for me, personal redemption
And as my Rock Sustainer, intimate relation.
