Early Morning Clouds
This morning I raised the blind
Heavy clouds hung in the sky
In the distance dark, leafless trees
As my looking passed through the trunks
A bright fire-like light was there
As I stood, wondering,it was gone
Then in blinding light the sun appeared
Rose from behind the black cloud
I had to lower my gaze
It was not a silver lining
But a dazzling golden glow
Was this a glimpse of heaven?

Lifting Mist
Breaking through the mist
The sunlight warms my soul
Brings me fresh insight
Encourages, makes me whole.
So when I am confused
Cannot see the way to go
I simply wait for the sun to shine
The revealing wind to blow.

Sunlight
Silvery dawns and golden sunsets
At the beginning and end of each day
Remind me that the divine Creator
Is in control in every way.
He causes the sun to rise and set
To open and close each day
By this I know He loves me still
For His light always shows me the way.
It’s a light quite unlike the moon
It does not wax or wane
It never flickers or dies out
But constantly stays the same.
The sunlight reminds me that God has said
If I walk in the light of His light
I’ll be blessed; will never stumble
Won’t be concerned by the darkness of night.
For I know that His light will guide me
Along the path He has chosen for me
Which is leading me ever onward
To my heavenly destiny.

Panacea for a Gloomy Day
Another grey, gloomy day
No sun. Lowering skies
Menacing clouds. Leaden
Threatening rain.
What to do on such a day?
Remember blue skies
Retreat to memories of sun-filled days
Childhood moments of warm pleasure.
Playing carefree on sunlit beaches
Running through sparkling waves
Skipping in wildflower meadows
Hiding and seeking round bushes
Climbing trees. Nonchalant swinging.
Wonderful recollections
Heart-warming reminiscing
I feel better already.

Weather
Wind
Listen to the wind
It is singing.
Listen to the silence
It is speaking.
Listen to your heart
It hears the wind and silence
It understands.
Sun
The sun rises
Darkness is dispelled
It brings warmth
Encourages growth
Bask in its light
Assimilate the strength
Before day turns to night.
Rain
The rain pours down
The thirsty ground drinks.
Gentle showers
Fall on tired flowers
They are refreshed
And my soul is refreshed
By showers of blessing.
Storm
The thunder crashes
Pervades the ear.
The lightening flashes
Dazzles the eye.
Observe the lightening
Feel the thunderous power
They engender reverence
Motivate worship.
