Another year – another path
Another time to prove
The greatness of His faithfulness
The wonder of His love.
By walking in the Saviour’s steps
I every day will know
How glory follows suffering
As the cross to the empty tomb shows.
So I’ll keep on walking steadily
The path He has chosen for me
Drawn along by His cord of love
Till one day His blest face I shall see.

The Lord says, “Look up! You’ll see a gate
A gate that leads into a new year
A year when I promise to be near
Very near to you in all you do
To keep and guide you all the way through.
I’ll walk along with you every day
So you will never go astray
Leaving the way I’ve planned for you
Because I love you and you are a part
Of what is always close to my heart
People who need help to see
That I am the answer for them to be
Loved and relieved of their worry and pain
Restored to new life once again.
So continue down the narrow way
Assured I’ll be with you come what may
Together in love we’ll bring my kingdom in
Showing how I can save from sin.
Put your best foot forward starting today
The gate is wide open to the untried way
And as you move forward in my will
