Perfect Peace
When all around me is noise and strife
The Lord has promised for me
A peace that brings into my life
A calming tranquillity.
It’s a peace that surpasses human thought
And it’s found in Christ Jesus the Lord
In His self-sacrificing love for me
That I can read about in His Word.
Even through death, sorrow and loss
A perfect peace I can find
A peace that no one can take from me
Inner peace of heart and mind.
But what is even more wonderful
This peace is not only for now
For it’s made my peace with Almighty God
When before His throne I bow.
Peace complete and all consuming
Is mine for now and forever
A fruit of the Spirit with love and joy
And God’s promise that He’ll leave me never.
In life’s whirlpool of activity
I’ll come to God each day
Take time to meditate on His Word
Listen carefully to what He may say.
Then as I spend time in His presence
God’s perfect peace I’ll have more and more
It will flow over and bless all those I meet
Will open the peace-maker’s door.

Hope, Joy, Peace
Walking in your footsteps
Listening to your Word
Resting in your love
Delighting in you Lord.
I have hope. I have joy. I have peace.
Walking in the Spirit
Running after You
Flying ever higher
Just as Eagles do.
I have hope. I have joy. I have peace.
Learning more about you
Trusting day by day
Waiting in your Presence
I can know your way.
I have hope. I have joy. I have peace.

Soul Peace
Oh,how I would love the wings of a dove
Then I would fly away, find a place to rest
Fly away in my distress
To the quiet of the wilderness.
I know the dove is a symbol of peace
I wonder it it can bring release
Give me freedom from all this pain
That is once more overwhelming me again.
The dove represents the Holy Spirit
Who can guard my heart and mind
Comfort me and through whom I can find
The deep, lasting peace I crave.
Please Lord hear my desperate prayer
The cry from my wounded heart
Answer me now as I come to you
Cause my anguish to depart.
Give me the soul peace you promise
Through the Holy Spirit’s power
Pour it to overflowing in me
I await the enabling shower.

Reach Out
The rhythm of life lived in tune with God
Speaking to Him, reading His Word
Is great, because I need not look about
Worrying and wondering how things will turn out.
For Jesus has promised to be my guide
If I match my step to His, stride for stride
If He stops somewhere I must stop too
Must not get anxious about what I should do.
For sometimes Jesus wants to just be with me
Resting together in harmony
These rests are important for he knows He needs time
To refresh and prepare me when there are high cliffs to climb.
Problems and doubts troubling my mind
I give to the Lord for Him to unwind
He reassures me, wipes away my tears
I have peace in my heart, all stress disappears.
Fully trusting Jesus I’ve no worry or fear
Hear His gentle whisper, “Reach out, I am here.”

In His Hands
Every morning when I wake
Every single breath I take
Every day and every hour
I live only through God’s power.
He holds me safely in His hands
Controlling all the many strands
Of my life upon this earth
Before and every moment since my birth.
I do not always feel His peace
But that is always my fault not His
For He has said just come and rest
But I rebel, think I know best
Yet God is very patient with me
By His grace improving me gradually
Helping me daily to live in love
Preparing me for my home above.

Presence
My Presence shall go with you
And I will give you rest
For you can fully trust me
I always know what’s best.
My Presence shall go with you
I will bring you peace
A peace the world cannot offer
A peace that will never cease.
My Presence shall go with you
You’ll share my Father’s love
A love that has no limits
That comes from heaven above.
My Presence shall go with you
And I will fill you with joy
A joy that even through times of distress
Nothing can destroy.
My Presence shall go with you
You will become more kind
A kindness that really is heartfelt
A gentleness of mind.
My Presence shall go with you
And you will know what’s good
So that even when evil surrounds you
You’ll distinguish the trees from the wood.
My Presence shall go with you
And I’ll increase your faith
By running along beside you
Until you’ve won the race.
My Presence shall go with you
Your knowledge of me will grow
And as you learn more about me
More to others you’ll be able to show.
My heart is at rest for God’s promise
Oh rich glorious mystery
Through His love & resurrection power
Hope of glory – Christ living in me.

Seeds of Peace
A seed
Unplanted
Remains a seed
Will only feed
One.
A seed
Planted
Unseen
Will die
But multiply.
Seeds of peace
Sown
Lie hidden
But bring forth
A harvest of goodness.
Those who plant
Will reap
Righteousness
Be blessed
Be called
Children of God.
Lord
Make me
A peace planter.

With Eagle’s Wings
I stand secure upon a branch
Waiting to fly away
I think to myself
If I flap a bit
With a little more effort
I’ll prove myself
I will not fall
Rise above it all.
But God says “No”
Stop flapping, flapping
To make things happen
Open your wings
Wait for the uplift
The Spirit brings.
Surrender yourself
You will spiritually fly
Above the mist into the sky
Will then have my perspective.
You are free to fly
Move off your branch
Yield to me
Be uplifted.
By the Spirit’s energy
Working in you
You will quickly soar
To higher realms
To hover above
And by faith and love
Understand the hope
Stored up for you in heaven.
Living like this
You will find
God’s knowledge and wisdom
Have peace of mind
Pleasing God in every way
Bearing fruit day after day
Being strengthened
With His glorious might
Have endurance and patience
Joyful delight
To share with the saints
In God’s kingdom of light.

Assurance
I will not fear
God made me
Redeemed me
Named me
Knows me
Loves me
Enfolds me
I am His.

Daily Whirl
In the midst of the humdrum daily whirl
My Shepherd brings His peace to my soul
By taking me gently by the hand
Leading me to pastures green; quiet streams
Where I have time to rest; reflect
On God’s great goodness; grace
Maybe partly see His face
For it’s only when I stop; am still
That I can know my Father’s will
To reflect His love to those around
Bring His perfect peace to heart; to mind
Helping others in Jesus to find
Purpose in their lives.
