The Son of God brings
Strength for my weakness
Righteousness for my sin
Riches for my poverty
Joy in my sorrow
Peace for my heart and mind
Forgiveness for my past
Hope for my future
Empowerment to live each day.
How?
By dying in my place in His love
Then rising in His power to give me life
By ascending to His throne as King
By His promise to someday to bring
Me to His home to live with Him
Forever.
Sometimes as I walk through a forest glade
Beneath tall trees that give me shade
I think of how a tree was cut down
To form a cross for the Son of God.
I hear the birds as they worship on high
Taking so much pleasure in the clear blue sky
As I wander in silence I think of Him
Who on the cross took away my sin.
How Creator of all this beauty I see
Was willing to sacrifice for me
And my heart swells as I consider my Lord
Then I stop, sit down, open His Word
Where I read how great my Saviour is
And my heart overflows with love for Him
Because God’s idea for my redemption
Was in His heart before all this creation.
Psalms 92:5
I never will fathom
The greatness of the One
Who created everything
Yet sent His Son
To die to redeem me
From all my sin
In order that I
Might be brought in
To the very Presence
Of Creator God
Cleansed, righteous, justified
Yes, just as though
I myself had died
For Jesus Christ
Is my substitution
And believing in Him
I’m a new creation.
I never will fathom

Whenever I study
Meditate on God’s Word
For me what’s most important
Is that I meet my Lord
My Saviour, my Friend
Jesus, Son of God.
If I search
I can find Him
On every page.
As I study and meditate
I am empowered
Inspired and encouraged
Guided and comforted.
The Word gives me hope
Brings me joy
I’m restored and revived
The peace of God floods in
Fills my heart and mind.
How can words in a book
Influence me so?
Because these sixty-six books
In one volume
Contain and transmit
Living words.
The Almighty speaks
Directly to me
How sublime!
How incredible!
Can anything be better?
Anything more awesome?
Greater than that?
Time is chasing after me
And he will catch me one day
I shall be happy when he does
For then I’ll be on my way.
On my way to a new place
Where’s there no more crying or tears
A place where ticking does not exist
No more seconds, minutes, days or years.
Where beginnings and ends are unheard of
Except as names of God’s Son
Who will welcome me to His heavenly home
Where ‘out-of-time’ will have then begun.
