Crisis

Even in the crisis you are facing now
With so many questions, how long?  Why?  How?
You can rest in assurance that God is near
And knowing this you need have no fear
Why not bring to Him your thanks and praise
That He has control of all your days.

Fishing

Are you in a place of worry; anxiety; fear?
Do not be afraid for Jesus is near
He asks you to take your boat further out
Cast your net on the right where fish are swimming about.

If you do, you’ll catch so many fish
That you’ll need others’ help to bring them ashore
Then as you continue to trust and obey
Your catch will multiply more and more.

Mindset

When the storms of life are swirling around
The only true peace for my mind is found
In fixing my thoughts on the Lord.

When surges of worry are overwhelming
And waves of doubt come rushing in
I will anchor my thoughts to the Rock, on Him.

For God fills my heart with supernatural peace
All winds and waves miraculously cease
When my thoughts are fixed on the Lord.

Scrambled Thinking

There was a thick shadow of darkness
Overpowering my mind and my heart
Worry, anxiety and fear, filled my thinking
Muddled and confused, I felt I was sinking.

I spoke to many people who filled my mind
With ideas that were not from God
When I should have unburdened to Him instead
The overwhelming thoughts going around in my head.

When I turned to God, seeking His peace
Which surpasses all comprehension
He said, “If I keep and guard your heart and mind
A new tranquil state of soul you will find.

So instead of trying to think all things through
I allowed God to unscramble my thinking
Now resting in His immense capability
I possess inward and outward tranquillity.

Sun & Rain

The sun of God’s love
Warms the worried, sad heart
When at the end of the rope
On a slippery slope
Provides power to cope
Brings joy and hope.

The rain of God’s love
Pours down to refresh
When feeling pulled apart
It cleanses the heart
Restores the soul
Fully makes whole.

So…
Stop!
Take time to think
Bask and drink
In God’s love.

Little Things

A past regret?
Despair over what has gone?
A scary future?
Worry about what’s to come?

Do you think about yesterday’s failures?
Have fearful thoughts about tomorrow?
Return to today; focus on God
He’ll fill you with joy; remove all sorrow.

What is right in front of you?
Currently available?
Surrender it to the Lord
He’ll do that for which you’re incapable

As your trust in God grows
He’ll ask, “What’s in your hand?”
Just give your little to Him
Watch it miraculously expand.

PRAYER
Dear God, help me not to worry or fret but to entrust my life, both past and future, into your keeping. Enable me to focus on the opportunities before me so that I can better serve you now.

YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST BUT YOU WILL RUIN THE PRESENT BY WORRYING ABOUT THE FUTURE.

Mindset

When my mind is in a turmoil
Restless thoughts moving to and fro
Disturbing; troubled ruminations
Anxious feelings that grow and grow
It is then I must steadfastly set my mind
Putting all my trust in the Lord
Then he will keep me in perfect peace
As he’s promised in his Word.

Open Doors

Faced with a dilemma
Not knowing what to do
Hesitating, contemplating
Which way should I go?

Two doors stand open before me
Which one do I go through?
I stand in front of each one
Wondering what to do.

As I wait on God expectantly
I see one door firmly slam to
The other stands wide open
Now I know what I must do.

As I anxiously start to move forward
I hear God’s voice loud and clear
This door is your opportunity
For you to do a great work here.

Many people will respond
But some will also oppose
I have the key that opens doors
What I open no one can close.

Look Hear

Are you anxious, worried, troubled
Not sure what you should do
Come, speak to your Creator
HEAR what He has to say to you.

He speaks clearly to you in writing
If you just take time to LOOK
Through history, poetry, letters
You can read in the Bible, His book.

He is always ready to listen
He is longing to hear from you
Especially when all is going well
He is interested in ALL you do.

LOOKing, talking, HEARing’s called praying
Sharing with a friend everyday
But it’s really very much better
Because God never goes away.

A Solid Foundation

All around us walls are crumbling
Cracks appearing; deepening; widening
In the upper levels of life.

Political unrest and moral decay
Instability, uncertainty increasing day by day
Worry, fear, confusion in currencies
Are pressing in; never far away.

What is causing all this unrest?
Where or who to turn to for the best?

First I need to check on what I am building
For those cracks were not there at the birth of creation.

Constructing on a faulty foundation
The house stands firm while everything’s okay
But which when storms and strong winds come along
The building starts to wobble and sway
Then eventually collapses; crashes down to the ground
So I’m left with devastation all around.

What then is the answer?
What on earth shall I do?

The answer lies with the one who is on the throne
The heavenly throne. He Himself the Living Stone
Jesus Christ, God’s only Son,
Chosen long before all of creation
He, in this world, is the only one,
The absolutely certain and sure foundation.
