Soul Thrill

I often look into the sky
Watch the clouds floating by
I think of you.

I sometimes wander through the trees
See leaves gently swaying in the breeze
I hear you speak.

I pass along a crowded street
Am aware of the many hurrying feet
I walk with you.

Quietly sitting down to have a drink
My mind fills and as I think
Reach out to you.

I thank, praise and worship in prayer
How wonderful it is to share
My soul is thrilled.

True Worship

I can worship God
Anywhere
Any time
Anyhow
But do I?

True worship
Is spiritual
Not seen by man
Only by God

True worship
Is truthful
In love toward man
Serving one another.

The first is Godward
The second neighbourward
Worship in spirit and truth
Is love.

Love for God
Adoration and praise.
Love for others
Prayerful intercession
Caring actions.

God accepts my worship
Everywhere
At all times
In any form
So long as it is
In spirit
And in truth.

True Worship

In spirit
In truth
With heart – my emotions
With mind – my thinking
I’ll worship God
Through Jesus
My Saviour.

I’ll feel His presence
Know His pardon
His purpose revealed
His power displayed
In my life
A witness
To hungry
Thirsty people
Longing to fill
The void in their lives
Creating in them
The desire
To know God too.

A Wow Moment!

I’ve had a ‘wow’ moment I can’t describe,
When the apocalyptic curtain was pulled aside
And I was permitted to look inside;
See the throne of God and much more beside!

Caught up in the Spirit I could look through
Space and time to something quite new;
Touch the unknown, see what is to be,
A wonderful glimpse of eternity.

The here and now became the then and there;
I was transported to I know not where!
The vision of God and the Lamb who was slain
Comes back to my mind again and again.

Understanding this ultimate reality,
I praise and worship with new intensity –
My Heavenly Father, Almighty God
Lord Jesus, my Saviour, Living Word!

Now…

To have wondrous moments when you just say, ‘Wow!’
See then and there from the here and now!
Just rest in the Spirit; he’ll pull back the curtain,
Give spiritual glimpses of things that are certain.

Weather

Wind
Listen to the wind
It is singing.
Listen to the silence
It is speaking.
Listen to your heart
It hears the wind and silence
It understands.

Sun
The sun rises
Darkness is dispelled
It brings warmth
Encourages growth
Bask in its light
Assimilate the strength
Before day turns to night.

Rain
The rain pours down
The thirsty ground drinks.
Gentle showers
Fall on tired flowers
They are refreshed
And my soul is refreshed
By showers of blessing.

Storm
The thunder crashes
Pervades the ear.
The lightening flashes
Dazzles the eye.
Observe the lightening
Feel the thunderous power
They engender reverence
Motivate worship.

Car Journey

My life’s journey is like a car ride
But I am not travelling alone
I have my best friend beside me
So we can talk, no need to phone.

Sometimes we come to a spot in the road
When I cannot see round the bend
But I have my co-driver with me
Who knows the beginning to the end.

There’s a hill ahead that looks very steep
But I know we will get to the top
And although our progress is slower
Our vehicle does not stop.

On the other side of the hill, what joy!
A wonderful view comes in sight
I shout with great excitement
Then have to hold on tight.

Knowing my Friend created that hill
And designed the glorious view
I turn to Him with grateful thanks
And see that He’s smiling too.

We continue on our journey
Sometimes talking, other times quiet
He suggests we stop and rest for a while
We get out and go for a bite

We continue driving till the sun goes down
I sleep but my Friend stays awake
He watches over me like a mother
Preparing things for my sake.

We continue like this looking back every day
Sharing what was right or wrong
Then we end each day as we begin it
In worshipping Father God in song.
