Through the long dark valleys
And over rough terrain
God was with us again and again
So we raised an Ebenezer Stone
“Hitherto the Lord has helped us.”
When the winds were howling
The rough seas were raging
We were tossed about but looking round found
The Lord was with us in the storm
So we placed an Ebenezer Stone
“Up to now the Lord has helped us.”
When we were down, in deep despair
Not knowing which way to turn
We found the Lord was always there
Ready to lift us up
So again we set up an Ebenezer Stone
“Up to this point the Lord has helped us.”
Now as we look back along the road
We can clearly see the Ebenezer Stones
Remember how the Lord helped us along
Give him praise for all He has done in song
Ebenezer! Ebenezer! Ebenezer!
To Him be all glory for ever!
