Small steps of trust
Great leaps of faith
Both play a part
Everyday in the race.
The race I am running
To reach the goal
As I press ever onward
With heart, mind and soul.
If I am weary
When I want to give in
I must focus on Jesus
Keep my eyes on Him.
For He is the One
On whom my faith depends
And like Him I shall know
Fullness of joy at the end.
I am also surrounded
By an enormous crowd
Witnesses to the life of faith
Altogether shouting aloud.
“Keep on running
You are nearly there
And there’s a prize awaiting
Without compare.”
I throw off the burdens
That are hindering me
Then race boldly on
With greater liberty.
I know very soon
I’ll obtain my reward
See God and beside Him
Christ Jesus my Lord.
