I must let the river take me
Wherever that may be
Every day wending its way
Through the mill, down the hill
Turbulent waters and still
Till it reaches; becomes part of the sea.
The river by its power
Carries me onward hour by hour
To where the vastitude of the ocean
Is waiting for me to come
With arms outstretched in welcome
When my river days are done.
Just as the river that I can see
The unseen river of love spiritually
If I go with its flow, fast or slow
Will surround me and sustain
Through sunshine, wind and rain
Till I’m part of God’s ocean “Eternity.”
