Yesterday
Unexpectedly
A baby came to stay
I wasn’t sure why it had come
But it wouldn’t go away.
I held it, nursed it; fed it too
And the tiny baby grew and grew
Until one day I actually found
I could no longer carry it around
The name of the baby – Grudge
I decided to go and see the one
From where the baby came
Told them I wanted to forgive
That really I could no longer live
With this baby to carry around.
All was forgiven.
I needn’t have feared
And Baby Grudge just disappeared
As quickly as he had come.
