Circles of Life

Categories: Life, Relationships

At birth I am found
At the centre, safe and sound
It’s the start of me
Moving concentrically
Continually, consistently
Towards the circle maturity.

From the circumference
I now look back
Through many years
See a toddler in tears
A young pupil with fears
A teen with hormones
Exploring fresh zones
Spending hours on phones
Till reality sets in
Realise phones cost money
And it’s not so funny
When I have to, pay
Have to find my own way
In the circle called world
Into which I get hurled.

The circle widens
The future brightens
I cross new horizons
Until the circle’s complete
I need no longer compete
Can take a back seat
Look back to the centre
Quietly enjoy the memory
Of each circle that made
Me me.
