Returning to his own home town
Jesus felt completely let down
As those who knew him really well
Didn’t want to hear what he had to tell
“Where did he get his wisdom from
And the power for the miracles he has done?
He’s just a carpenter – Mary’s son.”
They said, and took offence.
Jesus, amazed at their lack of faith
Did no miracles there and went away
For a prophet is honoured everywhere
Except in his own home town.
