When your heart’s gone past the broken stage
And feels all shriveled and dry
When your mind’s gone past the questioning stage
All the what-ifs, when, how and why
It is then you will find I am still with you
Because memories built over many years
Can never, ever, be washed away
By the outpouring of so many tears
Then gradually as time passes by
Present deep pain will fade away
But all the memories formed in the past
Will sustain you for they will stay.
