My cat has so much to teach me
He listens to all I say
Accepting all the attention
I give him day after day.
He is so relaxed in my presence
Assured that I am there
To see to his every daily need
He trusts me; knows that I care.
So he never is anxious or worried
Just believes that I will supply
All that is necessary for him
During life until he will die.
He shows me that he is grateful
For all I do for him
By simply resting on my lap
His purrs come from deep within.
It’s true he sometimes wanders
Not returning for a day
But he’s assured I will always be here
However far he may stray.
So all I have learned by watching my cat
I’ll put into practice now
By trusting, resting, praising God
My cat has shown me how.
