Every anchor has a rope
A strong cord holding fast
To stop the vessel drifting
In the storm.
A Christian’s soul anchor
Is fastened to the Rock
In the inner sanctuary
Immoveable.
The rope – the Holy Spirit
Links to the Heavenly Harbour
Where the Forerunner has entered
Jesus, Great High Priest.
If I keep holding the rope
I shall feel the tug
As the Holy Spirit takes up slack
Holds it fast.
So even when tempests rage
Gale force winds blow
I shall have never be scared
My anchor holds.
