Just as the bulb has been very still
Gathering strength all winter through
So now in the spring I am asking you
To pierce the snow; open and show
To anyone who will stoop down to see
How wonderful a snowdrop can be
With it’s petals wide open and very white
To catch every ray of bright sunlight
And this to reflect to all around.
The glory of God coming from the ground.
Now, the time has come for you to be
A snowdrop with petals open for me
Then those who pass by will want to know
How such a small flower can pierce hard snow
This will be the occasion for you to share
How all through the darkness I was there
Supporting you through the winter so cold
So that in the spring you would be bold
Willing to go in the Spirit’s power
To witness for me – a small white flower
Will you make this pledge? “Perce de neige.”
