From day to day
Emotions falter, flicker
Governed by happenings
Unplanned occurrences.
I must look beyond these
Beyond the flux of circumstance
Fluctuating feelings
To discover true love
Which is far more than feeling or emotion.
Search for the constant outflow
Of faithful, trusting love
Found in small children
So often lost in adulthood
Yet, if retained and nurtured
Will stand the test of time.
