Those who hope in God never wait in vain
For through all waiting time God will sustain
Those who put their trust in Him.
Although Jesus cried aloud from the tree
“My God, why have you forsaken me?”
God never abandoned the son of His love
For after three days of waiting God raised him up
Seated him on his right in heaven above.
So, although on Friday there was suffering and loss
(Hadn’t they seen with their eyes Jesus dead on the cross!)
After long, dark nights of anguish, sorrow and grief
Came Sunday morning, and with great relief
The waiting was over and there was joy once more
When the Master returned through a fast-closed door
Proclaiming peace, revealing God’s power
Over sin and death for evermore.
Today if you’re waiting, never despair
But trust and hope for Gods’ always there
And He will bring you through.
