It’s good to remember and ponder
For all this activity there is reason
It’s a birthday.
The birthday of a king
Not just an earthly king
But a heavenly one
Jesus Christ
The perfect Son
The ‘with-us-God’
Emmanuel.
The Almighty come down
With man to dwell.
Arriving on earth
By a miraculous birth.
Humbly born
In the night
Yet flooding the earth
With glorious light.
So let us bring our gifts to Him
Wisely give Him everything
Worship and adore
Whilst the angels sing.
