Emotional Release

Categories: Bereavement

There were times just after my loved one died
When I was poised in space and time
Life had lost all its meaning
Completely lacked rhythm or rhyme.

Every ounce of my energy was spent
In angry pent-up emotion
Sobbing, crying, questioning, giving vent
To all-consuming, overwhelming passion.

At last I’ve come through to a better place
Can see trees; not just the wood
Can see the new life springing up
Beginning to understand as I should.

Now as I move on to an untried way
To a future that to me is unknown
My prayer is a prayer of thanks to God
Who will never leave me alone.
