Deep darkness; anguish
Distress, afflictions
Walled in with no escape
My path blocked
By a high stone wall
Peace stripped away
All splendour gone
Arrows shot into my heart
Suffering and homelessness
Everything I hoped for lost
The Lord’s hand heavy upon me.
My tears flow endlessly down
Yet through it all I dare to hope
Hope when I remember this:
The unfailing love of the Lord
A love that never ends.
His great faithfulness
His mercies fresh each day
His wonderful goodness
To those who wait and seek Him.

Looks down from heaven
Sees me in my afflictions.
I waited Lord.
From the deep Lord
I sought you
